Zachary George Roerig is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Matt Donovan in the CW's "The Vampire Diaries". He portrayed Pulse on FOX's The Gifted.
Biography
Zach was born on February 22, 1985 in Montpelier, Ohio, to Andrea and Dan Roerig. He has a younger sister named Emily, who was born in 1989. Zach graduated from Montpelier High school, where he played both football and also wrestled. While growing up, he worked for his father and grandfather, making gravestones at Fackler Monuments. Roerig later had a daughter who was born on January 2011. He filed legal papers in June 2013, seeking full custody of his daughter after her mother, and his ex-girlfriend, Alana Turner, was imprisoned.
He made his television debut in the 2004, where he appeared on "Law & Order", He landed a minor role as Rollerblade Messenger. Since then, he has made many appearances in televisions series and films, such as "As the World Turns", "One Life to Live", "Friday Night Lights", "The Prince", and "Ring" the biggest moment in his career undoubtedly came when he landed a series regular role as Matt Donovan on the hit CW show "The Vampire Diaries", where he remained a regular until the series' end in March of 2017.
