This season will deal with the aftermath of the season 1 finale, where a group of the Mutant Underground joined the Hellfire Club. It will also dive more into the Purifiers while introducing another group of mutants known as the Morlocks.
Season 2 will consist of a 6 month time jump. The season will pick up with Polaris about to give birth, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The 20th Century Fox Television/Marvel series picks up after the explosion of the Atlanta Station. The Mutant Underground search for their friends and family who left with The Inner Circle. Having tracked them outside of Washington, D.C., they must contend with new groups with extreme ideologies, both human and mutant alike, to stave off a brewing conflict.

|The Struckers, minus Andy, begin to rebuild their broken trust, while Thunderbird, Blink and Eclipse visit Wire, hoping to convince him to help again. When they get there, Wire’s brother, Graph (guest star Adam David Thompson), fights them, thinking they are responsible for Wire’s death. They knock him out and bring him back to the clinic. When he won’t help, Caitlin convinces him by using a drug to forcibly send Graph into withdrawal. He discovers that the Inner Circle is on the way to raid a mutant detention facility, so the group moves to intercept. Meanwhile, Jace is contacted by a member of the Purifiers.|
