Simon David Kinberg is a British-born American writer and producer. He is best known for his influence within the Marvel Comics Universe, such as "X-Men: First Class", "X-Men: Days of Future Past", "Logan", "Legion", and many more. He is currently an Executive Producer for FOX's The Gifted.

Biography[]

Simon was born on August 2, 1973, in London, England. His parents are Monica Menell-Kinberg and Jud Kinberg, who is a writer and producer as well. Before marrying his mother, Simon's father was married to a French actress known as Suzanne Dalbert. He was raised in Los Angeles, where he graduated from Brentwood High School. Following that, he attended Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude, and in 2003, he received his MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts, winning the Zaki Gordon Fellowship for Screenwriting.

He sold a pitch to Warner Brothers, and later proceeded to write scripts for Sony, DreamWorks, and Disney, all the while still in film school. Upon graduating, he moved to California, where his first screenwriting credit was a XXX: State of the Union, a 2005 action film. He went on to write and produce on other projects like "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", and a multitude of films related to the X-Men franchise.
