Season 2 of FOX's American Action / Adventure television series The Gifted, was renewed on January 4, 2018.[2] The series started airing on September 25, 2018.[3]
This season deals with the aftermath of the season 1 finale, where a group of the Mutant Underground joined the Hellfire Club. It also dived more into the Purifiers[4] while introducing another group of mutants known as the Morlocks.
Season 2 consist of a 6 month time jump. The season pick up with Polaris about to give birth, Entertainment Weekly reports.[5]
Official Synopsis[]
The 20th Century Fox Television/Marvel series picks up after the explosion of the Atlanta Station. The Mutant Underground search for their friends and family who left with The Inner Circle. Having tracked them outside of Washington, D.C., they must contend with new groups with extreme ideologies, both human and mutant alike, to stave off a brewing conflict.[6]

- On May 14, during FOX upfronts, it was announced that The Gifted would be airing in a new time slot, on Tuesdays at 8/7c.[9]
- Filming began on May 30, 2018 and end in November 2018.[10]
- Some of the cast and crew attended 2018's San Diego Comic-Con panel. The panel took place at 2:30-3:15 pm on Saturday in Ballroom 20 at the convention. Panelists will include Matt Nix, Jeph Loeb, Stephen Moyer, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind and Skyler Samuels.[6]
