Thunderbird subdues Chloe

In threat of eXtinction, Chloe is planted as a spy within a group of mutant refugees hiding out in a church. Esme, a fellow refugee and a telepath, picks up "weird" thoughts from Chloe while they are in hiding. When the Mutant Underground comes to rescue them, Esme discloses her suspicions about Chloe to Thunderbird, where he discovers that she is branded with a Hound tattoo. With her cover blown, Chloe attacks Thunderbird and the other mutants, but Eclipse is able to hold her at bay using his solar beams. Thunderbird is then able to knock Chloe unconscious by launching an attack using one of Blink's portals.

Chloe locked in a cell

Chloe is taken to the Mutant Underground Headquarters locked in a cell after they discover a beacon in her back that she could've activated to lead Sentinel Services to the station. Marcos describes her as being a cross between a spy and a suicide bomber. She also has weapons, leaving Lorna to conclude that the station in Perry must've been hit by another Hound like her. With Sentinel Services planting Hounds, Sage suggests that they stop taking in refugees for the time being. However, John refuses to turn his back on desperate people just because one of them might be dangerous. As for Chloe, they need to get what they can out of her. John instructs Marcos and Lorna to figure out who she is though he wonders if the two of them can handle it due to the obvious tension being displayed.

Lorna threatens Chloe with knives

When Chloe refuses to communicate, Lorna brings in Sonya to "smoke her", so to speak. While, Sonya agrees to give it a try, she isn't convinced that she will be of much use. Sonya exhales her pink smoke towards the prisoner, but Chloe relies on her speed to avoid the smoke. Sonya isn't equipped to hit moving targets. Furthermore, had Chloe even breathed in the smoke, her metabolism is likely too fast for Sonya to gather any information of use from her memories. This forces Lorna to resort to more violent means in gathering the information they require by holding Chloe at knife point. Just as Sonya begins to show concern, Marcos arrives to bring an end to Lorna's brutish interrogation tactic.

When the Underground begins to suspect that Chloe is suffering from withdrawals, they go to Caitlin, who confirms that Chloe has all the symptoms. Marcos asks if they've ever seen a mutant on Kick. A mutant drug that temporarily boosts their powers, making them feel invincible. But it's incredibly addictive. And if that's the case, they might be able to treat Chloe.

Chloe is restrained and drugged

Lauren and Andy volunteer to restrain Chloe in order for Caitlin to be able to properly treat her, which will hopefully result in them getting answers from her. Andy will push her back towards the bars while Lauren holds her back with a shield long enough for their mother to inject with her the "sleep juice". However, Caitlin is merely guessing on the dosage in which she would inject into Chloe. So if something goes wrong, she will look for Marcos and Lorna to step in, who are on standby. Just as planned, Andy pushes her back against the rails, which allows Lauren to hold her still with a shield while their mother comes up from behind to inject her with an unknown substance that renders her unconscious almost immediately.

Once removed from the cell, Marcos and Lorna lock her down onto the table. Lauren, Andy, Lorna and Marcos watch as Caitlin injects her with medication to help with her withdrawals, though it won't matter given that she is dying from the massive amounts of drugs that Sentinel Services had given her.

Chloe wakes up

After looking through the hard drives from Baton Rouge, Sage returns with the prisoner's identity. Her name is Chloe Tan. She used to live in a trailer park outside of Jasper. Her kid got sick, but the pediatrician wouldn't treat mutants, so Chloe destroyed the doctor's office and was subsequently apprehended by Sentinel services. As she wakes up, Caitlin attempts to speak to her. They know she was arrested by the Sentinel Services, but they need to know what happened to her while she was in their custody. Chloe attempts to speak, but Caitlin determines that she can't speak and she has not the slightest clue whether it is mental or physical. Caitlin suggests that they use Esme to read Chloe's mind.

Chloe dies on the table

Caitlin returns with Esme. Lorna asks if she is capable of reading Chloe's thoughts as Caitlin had said she could. Esme replies "maybe", which doesn't exude confidence in her ability, which concerns Lorna, so she felt it necessary to remind Esme what they are fighting for. However, Esme needs no reminder. Sentinel Services has her family, meaning she is more than willing to fight. Esme eyes glow while reading Chloe's thoughts. She senses need and pain. A deeper dig reveals that Trask Industries, which is North of the Underground, had killed her husband and took her daughter. Unfortunately, Chloe dies on the table soon thereafter.

Personality

Not much is known about her personality before she was turned into a Hound. However, it's known that she was a devoted person to her family, especially to her daughter, who was refused medical treatment, which resulted in Chloe losing control of herself and destroying the office of the doctor who refused to treat her daughter. This cataclysm event lead her to her imprisonment at Trask Industries, where they forced her addiction to the mutant power enhancing drug, Kick.

Physical Appearance

Chloe was a thin woman of Asian descent, with short black hair and dark brown eyes. After becoming addicted to Kick, Chloe's skin took on a pale pallor, and the area under her eyes became noticeably darker.

Abilities and Skills

  • Super Speed: Chloe was able to move at a very high speed, becoming a distorted blur of motion that can move several feet in seconds. While moving, Chloe could generate enough force to send people flying and break bones with ease, simulating superhuman strength. Her abilities made able to fight Thunderbird on equal grounds while she was moving, though she could not fight him off when he restrained her from behind and Andy and Lauren could use their powers to push and hold her back, nullifying her motion.
    • Enhanced Metabolism: Chloe's speed extended to her metabolism, allowing her potential immunity to certain chemicals, such as Dreamer's memory manipulating mist. However, her metabolism was not enough to allow her immunity to the power-enhancing drug, Kick or powerful enough sedatives.
  • Superhuman Strength: Chloe possess superhuman strength, proven in her fight at Eternal Grace Church. Despite Thunderbird's own impressive strength and physical invulnerability, Chloe managed to take him down twice, though it should noted that she relied on a combination of her speed and strength to defeat him. Along with Thunderbird, she also managed to take down three mutant refugees with little to no effort, sending them flying across the parking lot with each attack.
